It is an expensive investment to have a loved one in the mausoleum. My sister could not bear the thought of having him anywhere else. She was comforted by knowing he was inside with the stained glass wall of the Virgin Mary keeping watch over him.

I

I’m not the most religious person in the world but Gate of Heaven is a great place to walk around & reflect & remember loved ones.

Beautiful scenery!

It seems completely about profit at the Gates of Heaven and not about service and comfort for the families that have provided a very lucrative business for the owners of Gates of Heaven. If you have someone there or are considering this cemetery, I caution you to consider the conditions.

I visited my nephew's grave inside the mausoleum yesterday 7/26/2016, the anniversary of his tragic death at age 16. It happened to be a very hot day, approximately 93 degrees.

It was a literal oven inside this area! I looked at the thermostat and discovered that it was 88 degrees inside. As I approached his corridor (211), I was shocked and nauseated by, not only the temperature, but the odor. It clearly reeked of death! I noticed a grave where a person had been put to rest recently and was sickened by the thought that the smell was a person's flesh rotting in the heat.

I opened the door to the main entrance and was relieved to feel the cool air inside. I entered the elevator which seemed a bit stuffy but was not awful. Once the elevator door opened on the second floor, I felt a noticeable difference in temperature. I then opened the door to the corridors where my nephew lies to rest.

I find this to be completely unacceptable. My 86 year old mother had been there earlier and felt sick. She had to lay down on the filthy, stained bench due to heat exhaustion.

I immediately ran out and went to speak to the gentleman in the office. He called the building manager, Jim Sciortino, who arrived quickly to hear my concerns. Unfortunately, he told me there was nothing he could do because there is no air conditioning in the corridors. Another employee of the cemetery came soon after and echoed the same response.
